C. Carusi PhD

Dr. Carusi has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1997). He also received his bachelor’s degree from Providence College.
Dr. Carusi moved to VA in 2001, in addition to Heatherwood, Dr. Carusi also serves at South West Virginia Mental Health Institute. He has also served in nursing homes and outpatient clinics around the region.
Prior to Heatherwood, Dr. Carusi has worked in an outpatient clinic in North Dakota for 4 1/2 years. During that time, he has also served 4 years on the board of directors of a battered women’s shelter (including a year and a half as president).
Dr. Carusi extensive expertise in treating survivors of trauma and recovery from losses continues to be a great asset to Heatherwood Counseling Center and its clients.
